Arup Global Research - IoT Desk

In close collaboration with ARUP, we are developing an intelligent office workstation that will optimize the user's wellbeing and productivity through adjustment of postural, thermal, and lighting settings.

Smart buildings and intelligent offices spaces will transform our work experience. In collaboration with the University of Southern California, Arup has developed the Internet of Things (IoT) desk as a platform for providing information and interaction. Using cost-effective sensors and machine learning, we can assess user position and make adjustments.

National Science Foundation (NSF) - NSF Workshop on Human Building Interaction

As part of a collaboration between UC Merced and USC, we held an NSF-funded workshop on the dynamic interaction of embodied human and machine intelligence on May 30-31, 2019 at the University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles, CA. The workshop focused on human interaction with [intelligent] built environments, spaces, designs and how they navigate through them, in other words Human-Building Interaction (HBI).
