Intelligent Environments & Trust

Computers, machines -and soon buildings- with AI are now becoming partners to humans. We are relying on them for work, to control our environments, and to make decisions that affect us. CENTIENTS therefore focuses some of its efforts on understanding a critical element to accepting AI in buildings and machines: trust. To partner with automation, we must trust it – believe that it will act benevolently towards us and do what it is supposed to. The possibilities for automation in buildings is mainly limited by what users will accept. The work conducted by CENTIENTS and elsewhere will be opportunities to foster increasing trust in and acceptance of automation in buildings and related machines.
